Churches Challenge completed!

After a wet start at the unearthly hour of 6.20 am the churches challenge was completed in 14 hours 29 minutes covering over 32 miles and 2000 feet of ascent and decent. Tired and weary the four intrepid hikers, Chris, George, Trevor and Stephen were welcomed back with a bottle of beer. Everyone of the eleven  churches in the Osmotherley and Hillside parishes visited and a prayer said at each one.

It is hoped that over £1000 has been raised for this charity. If you would like to donate please press the button to the side of this blog and you can do so securely on line with your credit or debit card.

Churches Challenge

With the 2011 mission to Bungoma about to depart, fundraising is going at a pace to fund the work that is needed to be done. The Rev'd Trevor Lewis is hiking around all his eleven churches in one day, 18th June, covering 32 miles to try and raise some of the much needed funds. Others are working hard too doing many other events and walks.

These funds will provide beds and mattresses for an orphanage along with the much needed mosquito nets; they will help with the provision of theological books and with the training of clergy who are going out into the rural areas of Bungoma; they will help to bring upto standard the Wycliffe centre thereby enabling the clergy of Bungoma to help the people of Bungoma help themselves. Where the church goes medical centres and schools follow.
